Vase with carp motif, porcelain, handpainted underglaze, 29" high

Amongst the material that came to the Temple Anthropology Lab from the now defunct Commercial Museum, is the vase above, from Japan.  This vase also appears, rather faintly, in the upper right hand corner of a Commercial Museum exhibit photograph taken in the first part of the 20th century.  The original museum labels, also below, detail the vase’s origins.
