Objects of travel

Here are more artifacts from the Rose Collection in honor of August, the month of travel and vacations!

The nested teacups as well as the carved wooden spoon were acquired by Mrs. Rose herself.  The leather slippers, shown in the middle photo, date to the late 19th century and were brought back from Egypt by a cousin of her husband.  It was Mrs. Rose’s desire to find a home for the older Egyptian pieces that led her, and eventually all of her collection, to the Temple Anthropology Lab.

The Rose Collection consists of approximately 134 pieces from 13 countries.
